Thank you for your interest in the Leeds School of Business!
Please note: Details about this program are subject to change. We will update this page with new or additional information, as it becomes available.
Designed for working professionals, the Online+ option allows students to enroll part-time and complete the MS Business Analytics degree over a longer period of time than the in-person program.
As with the campus-based MS Business Analytics program, the MS Business Analytics - Online+ program focuses on the exciting and fast growing field of “big data”.
Students learn about merging developments in marketing and customer analytics including operations research, business analytics, aspects of computer science and statistical methods during your degree. The curriculum offers a technical, quantitative, and statistically intensive program designed to train specialists in turning data into business decisions.
The MS Business Analytics - Online+ program focuses on preparation in three areas:
- Technical coding and data architecture skills.
- Functional, analytic problem-solving in a given business concept such as marketing, health, finance, risk and more.
- Soft-skill development: ability to communicate quantitative facts and conclusions with simplicity and empathy, facilitating decision-making.

This program is designed primarily for working professionals, allowing them to balance full-time employment while progressing through the degree program on a part-time basis.
The program follows the same curriculum provided in the full-time, on-campus program. Many courses are only offered in specific semesters.
Most students will complete the program in two years, beginning the program in July of their first year, and completing studies in May of their second year. However, students who have special circumstances and/or constraints can petition to complete the program on either a 10 month or three-year completion timeline. (Note: The 10 month timeline is only possible for students who are not employed full-time.)
The curriculum sections of this portal and the program website will show the more typical two-year completion time frame.
The MS Business Analytics - Online+ program is delivered through both lecture capture and the online+ delivery modalities.
The online+ modality utilizes short, compelling videos that students can watch and re-watch whenever they want. Students also engage directly with an instructor and other remote students during remote synchronous lab sessions, which are designed to complement the video content. This allows for direct engagement when problem-solving and when learning new skills from a particular course.
In the lecture capture modality, students watch the recorded lectures from the in-person classes that night or the next day.
Students in the MS Business Analytics - Online+ program will also engage directly with an instructor and other remote students during remote synchronous sessions, which are designed to complement the video content. This allows for direct engagement when problem-solving and learning new skills from a particular course. These sessions are set to deliver via Zoom at established dates and times after 5pm.
The Online Python Bootcamp will become available for enrolled students in early summer 2025 (most likely in mid-June, with exact date TBD) and must be completed by the start of courses. Classes begin July 8, 2025.
Orientation and Onboarding will be presented during individual and small group Zoom meetings, led by the Program Director of the MS Business Analytics Online+ program.
The MS Business Analytics - Online+ program consists of 33 credits.
Most students will complete the program over the course of two academic years (6 semesters, summers included). Students completing the program in two years will begin in July of the first year and complete the program in May of the second year. Courses are 3 credit hours each.
For a complete semester-by-semester schedule of courses and when they are taken, check out our website.
